When did you first get involved with track and field?  How long have you been running:

I’ve been running for 7 years- I began in middle school.

What is a typical training week like for you?

We start Monday with a steady/tempo run followed by a track workout. Tuesday is recovery, and Wednesday is a long steady run. Thursday is another tough track workout, Friday is easy, and Saturday is a very long run.

What are your goals for the upcoming track season?

I hope to PR in both the mile and the two mile, and help my team become top in state.

How do you prepare yourself mentally for a race?  Do you have any superstitions?

I always do the same things before my races. I I eat the same foods and am always ready to do my best.

What does your season look like and will you be competing in any out of state track meets during the season or post high school season?

We’ll be competing in the same races that DV has been to. Hopefully I will be given the opportunity to race again at Arcadia.

What message would you tell younger runners who aspire to be at the top?

Everyone says this, but: believe in yourself. You never know how good you can be. You have amazing potential and you must strive to be the best you can be in every aspect. With dedication comes success.

If you had to attribute your success to one thing, what would it be?

My mom has always been extremely supportive. Through injuries, awful seasons, and successful seasons, she has always been there for me. She knows what’s right and how to make me motivated.

Do you have role models or mentors in track and field?

I look up to my teammates; they do what’s best at all times. They are such dedicated hard workers and I wouldn’t be where I am without them.

How many events do you compete in and which event is your favorite?

I’ll compete in the 4x800, 1600, and (my favorite) the 3200.
