5k: 16:09

 

What are your goals for the upcoming season:

My goals for this season are to break 16:00 in the 5K and to be a mentor for the new freshman.

 

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

My summer training went well, consisting of about 45 miles per week.  My favorite distance run is the trail to the top of 7 Falls at Sabino Canyon.

 

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I have been running since third grade, when I won the 500 meter at the TUSD City Meet.

 

Which meets will you be running this year?

Our team will be running in the Northwest Showdown, Ojo Rojo, Doug Conley, and Twilight.
 

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

The Twilight course at Toga Sticks is my favorite course because of the excitement of running at night with such a large number of runners.

 

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

My favorite memories involve playing cards on the bus to invitationals, with my teammates and friends.

 

What do you look forward to the most this season?

I am looking forward to competing at my best, having fun, and remaining injury free.

 

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

As a freshman, I was part of the Varsity team which ran at State with Ochor, Ryan, Noah, Matt, and Curtis.

 

When you are not running what do you like to do?

I enjoy hanging out friends and playing cards.

 

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

I lift weights two times per week and do core exercises.

 

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

My coaches over the years have pushed me to recognize and reach my potential.

Nike Structure 16

 

Favorite athlete (running or otherwise)?

Bernard Lagat, because he is a World Champion, who lives here in Tucson.  Running into him at the park is a memorable experience because he is so accomplished, yet so humble.

What time of day do you run?

During the school year, I run after school, but my favorite time of the day to run is in the early mornings.
