What are your goals for the upcoming season:

My goals this season is to do my absolute best in races that are notable and really putting everything I’ve learned into my races. I would really like to go top ten at state which I barely missed last year

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

Summer training is fun and relaxed with an average 40-45 mile week. My favorite work-out is one that really works me and one that I feel like I took a lot from it which I have to say is 1 mile repeats at Skunk Creek.

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I have been running for 1 and a half years and I started in my Freshman year track because I did not make Freshman volleyball at O’Connor- since track was a no cut sport it seemed perfect.

Which meets will you be running this year?

My team and I will be running at notable races such as Desert Twilight, Ajo Rojo, and Peaks Invitationa;. Unfortunately, no out of state races this year but I hopefully will be attending Nike Cross Region and Footlocker this year.

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

My favorite course would have to be the Stanford course because for one I had great memories there and it’s a relatively flat course but a few rolling hills which makes it interesting. The toughest course mentally for me is the State course at Cave Creek Golf course the reason being it is a little bit of everything and never repeats on itself so it is a tricky course to do a nice solid race.

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

My favorite cross country race and memory was Stanford invitational- the race was excellent and traveling with my team made for some of the best memories.

What do you look forward to the most this season?

I’m looking forward to Desert Twilight seeing as it will be my first year racing it!

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

What stands out the most is placing 13th last year at the State Championships because I gave it my all and ran with girls I never thought I could run with.

When you are not running what do you like to do?

I enjoy drawing, hanging out with my friends, and getting ahead on homework. I also love to spend time with my family when I can.

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

Not particularly. I go to the gym with my Dad sometimes for fun and swim when I’m injured but aside from that, no.

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

Coach Iauch and my new coach, Coach Prescott-Nelson have been such a great support base for me- they always remind me of my goals and how I’m going to achieve them. Most of all, they never give up on me.

Shout-Outs?

Lindsay Prescott-Nelson for being so lovely! Also Camille Olson!
