What are your goals for the upcoming season:

My goal for the upcoming season is to have fun and stay positive.  The other goal is  to repeat as a individual state champion, and hopefully lead my team to another state title.

 

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

My summer training went well and I feel confident that the mileage I ran through the summer was the right amount.  I was running at least 4-6 miles every day, though some weeks were different with work schedule changing and family events.   My favorite workout is hill repeats.

 

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I have been running since my freshman year (2010) of high school. How I got involved in running was because of my parents.  They encourage me to try out for the cross country team after I didn't make the last cut for the volleyball team.   I decided to go to one of the cross country practices after a lot of persuasion.  I haved loved running and being part of the Flagstaff High School Cross Country Team ever since.

 

Which meets will you be running this year?

The meets I will be attending this year are Peaks Invitational, Ray Wherly Invite, The Four Corners Invitational, City Meet, Sectionals, and State.

 

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

My favorite course is Buffalo Park in my home town in Flagstaff,  AZ.  I love the huge hill it gives and the course flows well.

 

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

Dana Hill Invitational my freshman year.  It was a fun exciting and new experience running out oc my own state with only freshman in my race.  I also was able to pr in that race.

 

What do you look forward to the most this season?

I look forward in enjoying my last year with a group of amazing people that are my second family.  I am going to train hard, smart, and have fun.

 

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

The running accomplishments that stands out the most is winning state my sophomore year(2011) with my team, and becoming an individual state champion

 

When you are not running what do you like to do?

I like to relax, read a book, and chill with my friends.

 

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

I do not cross train and not planning to in this season.

 

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

My coaches have influenced me in many ways.  They have helped me throughout the season to stay healthy and happy.   I have learned life lessons from them that I will always cherishand remember.

 

Are you considering running in college?

I am planning to run in college in a D1 or D2.

Favorite Pre-race Meal?

I like to have a lot of salad, and some pasta with sauce.

 

Kind of shoes you train in?

The type of shoe I run in now is the Nike Kieger trail runner.

My favorite athlete is Janet Cherobon-Bowcom in running! and Hope Solo for soccer!
