What are your goals for the upcoming season:

My main goals for the upcoming season is to help my team to win the state championships, place high on all my races, qualify to the NXN meet and just have fun on the sport I love.

 

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

My summer training went very well. I built up slowly all the way to 75 miles a week, and my favorite workout was our Sunday long runs. 


 

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

I stared running in middle school, I was a sprinter, but one day my coach told me to run the mile, I did really good and I decided that distance was my thing.

 

Which meets will you be running this year?

We will be running on Doug Conley, Twilight, Rattler, STATE, NXR and hopefully NXN or Foot Locker.

 

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

My favorite course is the one of twilight, I really like the course because it´s flat, fast, and you get to run against the fastest teams on the state. The toughest course for me is Doug Conley.

 

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

Winning state in cross country with my team was without a doubt the highlight in my career as a high school runner.

 

What do you look forward to the most this season?

In this season I look forward to accomplish all my personal goals, and do my best to help on our team goals.

 

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

Out all of my running accomplishments, getting 7th place at state on cross country is the accomplishment that stands out the most.

 

When you are not running what do you like to do?

When I´m not running I like to hang out with my teammates, friends, and family.

 

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

The only cross training I do is yoga and core work.

 

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

My coaches have influenced me in so many ways, they all taught me about training hard, smart, and to be consistent.   Most importantly I have learned from them how to be a better person.

Shout-out to my all my teammates especially Robert Contreras and Lee Jones, they are my role models. My parents, and to all my family members because they support me on every step. And definitely to every single one of my coaches, Coach Chaves, Coach Padilla, in Middle School. On High School: Coach Bristow, and Coach Schadler.
