AZ 2013 Watch List - John Henry Hervol

 

The 2013 Cross Country Arizona Watch List series continues.   As the season gets underway new athletes will be added to the list.  

This is the last Watch List I have.  If you have sent me your watch list and it has not yet posted, I probably did not get it.  Please resend.  I am also waiting for about 10 athletes to get their Q and A's in.  Please send before the season if over!!!

What are your goals for the upcoming season:

To get the team to state and to personally peak at state.

 

How is your summer training going?   Your favorite workout?  What kind of summer mileage do you run?

Went well but not fantastic at the end due to health issues. Mile repeats. A little over 60 miles per week.
 

How long have you been running and how did you get started:

Since 3rd grade, encouraged by elementary coach and my brother.


 

Which meets will you be running this year?

Sue Fletcher, Mt. Carmel, Doug Conley, Rattler, sectionals and state.

 

What are your favorite and toughest courses to run in State and out of State?

Favorite  - Marana home course and toughest - sunny side home course at Kennedy Park.
 

So far in your high school career, what is your favorite cross country race or cross country memory?

Finishing 4th at Los Mesquites  in 2012.

 

What do you look forward to the most this season?

To see how much I and the team can improve throughout the year.

 

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

My performance at sectionals in 2012.

 

Do you cross train (lift, swim, bike etc)?

Bicycling, lift weights

 

How have your coaches influenced you overall?

Teaching me to have fun while I’m running and how to take  better care of my body.

 

Are you considering running in college?

Yes
