3. Chandler Preparatory Academy - 11th in 2016
Last year, while the Chandler Prep boys won the small school team title at their home Titan Invitational, they ended the season with an 11th place finish at the State Meet. Since then, they've made huge improvements on the track and are the only Division IV boys with five returners who've run under 5 minutes for 1600 meters. Evan Balizado is now a Senior and leading the charge strong for the Titans with a PR of 16:53 from his home meet last year. In May, Evan finished 4th in the D4 Boys 3200m at the track and field State Meet. Kyle Blunt, Sean Bromley, Markham and James Cochran also add depth to the Titan squad. Kyle qualified for both the D4 boys 800m and 1600m races of the track and field State Meet, while Sean and Markham clocked in around mid-10 minutes for 3200 meters this season. James also has a lot of room to grow as a freshman with a 4:53.18 time under his belt for 1600m. The Titans have their sights set high this season and have the man power go toe-to-toe with the best in Division IV.
