Do you listen to music before competing?
Yes, I have a pre-meet playlist that I've listened to every meet when I warm up and in it is a lot of hype music so I have 21 Savage, Future, Young Thug, and some Lil Wayne.
Do you have any superstitions or rituals that you go through when preparing for meets?
Actually, I do. The night before every invitational I have to have McDonald's and I always wear my galaxy socks.
Who would you consider your biggest competition?
I would consider myself my biggest competition because I went into every meet and every practice wanted to get better.
If you could do it all over again what would you do differently?
I would've definitely run track my freshman year because if I would have, I feel like I could've performed even better this season.
What will you miss most about competing for your team?
I will miss the bond we have created as a team to cheer each other on and push each other to compete at a high level each meet.
What advice would you give to younger athletes?
I would advise younger athletes to stick to the grind and to always have a goal for you to achieve. Not everything is earned during the season most is earned during the off season.
What is the most valuable lesson that you have learned from your coach?
I learned to take every jump as a learning opportunity to better my craft and become a better overall jumper.
What was the deciding factor for you to choose Pima Community College?
I choose to jump at Pima Community College next year because it is a great opportunity for me to have more time being recruited to find the school that I like and with a scholarship that helps pay for school.
Have you decided on a major yet and if not, what areas would you be interested in studying?
I will be studying Sports Journalism once I transfer to a 4-year university.
Who would you like to thank for your success in high school?
I'd like to thank my friends and family for supporting me throughout this amazing journey and believing in me the whole way. Ultimately, I'd like to thank my jumps coach Larry Rodriguez for pushing me more and more each year to reach the point we reached my senior year.
