During the afternoon session of the AIA State Championships, Cassidy Cann (Casteel, Sr.) finished 8th place with a time of 19:40.8 in the D2 Girls Race. By comparison to her freshman year, Cann was the only qualifier from Casteel for the State Meet and she finished 147th out of over 200 girls with a time of 24:03 in the D3 Girls Race, when Casteel was classified as Division 3 by the Arizona Interscholastic Association.
Meanwhile, Ali Upshaw (St. Michael, Sr.) was the fastest senior overall on Saturday and she closed out her cross country career for the Cardinals with back to back State Titles and a D4 Girls State Meet record.
