In this edition of Arizona Future Stars, we're taking a look at Hamilton freshman Lily Clawson!
In her first season, Clawson came out swinging. She ran the fastest freshman time of the year at the City of Chandler XC Championships. Clawson finished second in that race at 18:55.5, right behind sophomore teammate Alexis Rodriguez who finished in 18:55.3 at Tumbleweed Park.
This was almost a minute faster than the 19:47.1 she ran on the same course at the Chandler Invitational to open the season.
At the AIA State Championships, Clawson ran the fastest freshman time across all divisions (19:23.5) and finished 12th in the Division I race.
Clawson also ran 18:09.5 over the three-mile course at Woodbridge.
