Chandler High School girls won the team title with 245 points over Xavier College Prep's 120.7.
The depth of the Chandler High School young sprinters will keep the team at the top for years to come, especially with the girls who had up to 3 scorers in each event including the 800 meter run.
Chandler Wins:
Jasmine Todd, only a sophomore won the 100 meter dash in 12.57 after she had already claimed the long jump title with a jump of 17-9.
Freshman, Dominique Jackson won the 200 meter dash in 25.54 and freshman Alexis Roberts (pictured center) led a three place sweep in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.11. Bryanna Smythe (SR, pictured right) taking 2nd in 57.03 and Jade Dean (SO, picutred left) finishing 3rd in 59.33.In the 100 meter hurdles Sherrelle Jordan (FR) took 1st in 15.23 with teammate Makaila Flannigan (FR) finishing 2nd in 15.66 and Cadija Harris (JR) taking 3rd in 15.71. Flannigan went on to win the 300 meter hurdles in 46.99.
Kylene Knutsen (SO) won the Shot Put in 32-08.00 and teammate Chele Kapoo (JR) won the Discus with 114-07.
Haley Bowser took home a first in the Girls Pole Vault by jumping 10-00.
Chandler girls also won all three relays; 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800.
Xavier Wins:
Xavier College Prep girls took all the distance events with junior Katie Penney winning both the 800 meter run in 2:18.59 and the 1600 meter run in 5:12.99.
Freshman Sarah Fakler (pictured left) won the 3200 with a huge lead and a very fast 10:50.86. Roddreka Rogers (SO) won the Triple Jump with at jump of 34-8.50.
On the boys side, Chandler High School won the team title with 169 points over Brophy Prep's 113 points.
Chandler wins:
4x400 meter relay in 3:26.70.
Senior Jared Gonzales won the 800 meter run in 1:57.38.
Yusuf Muhammed (SR) won the 100 meter hurdles in 14.49. Mohammed also took 2nd in the 300 hurdles in 37.94 breaking the meet record behind Harry Danilevics from Brophy.
Lewis Tood (SR) won both the Triple Jump in 44-09.00 and a new meet record, and the high jump in 6-00 in a jump off with teammate Devin Centers (SO).
Brophy Wins:
Alex Bishop (SR) reached a new PR of 16-00 in the Pole Vault and a new meet record.
Will Firth (JR, pictured right) edge out teammate Tommy Williams (FR) in the 1600 clocking a time of 4:26.27. Williams finished 2nd in 4:26.51. Firth came back later in the afternoon to win the 3200 meter run in 9:56.59.Harry Danilevics (SR) won the 300 meter run in 37.84 for a new meet record.
Other winners:
Trae Armstrong (SO, Deer Valley) won both the 100 meter dash in 10.91 and the 200 meter dash in 21.95.
Justin D'Angelico (SR., North Canyon) took first in the 400 meter dash in 51.01.
Mesquite senior Steven Hansen won the 400 meter dash in 51.01.
Greenway High School Boys won the 4x800 in 8:24.04
Deer Valley boys won the 4x100 meter relay in 43.23.
Dallas Sandberg (Sr., Bradshaw Mountain) won the Shot Put with a throw of 49-00.
Charles Robinson (Sr, Mesquite) won the long jump in 22-02.00
