Cross Country 2010 - Division 4 Girls; Who To Watch

This week we will be focusing on the top runners to watch in each division ending with the top 5 overall boys and girls.   This is just a pre-season listing and will probably shift after the first weekend of meets.  The list was put together mainly from the 2009 cross country season and a little from the 2010 track season.  Please keep checking back to see the "Who to Watch" list.

 

 

Division 4 Girls

 

 

 

Chelena Betoney (So., Valley High) is the top returner for division 4.  In 2009 Betoney  placed 2nd at the Hopi Harrier Invitational, won the Bud Davis Invite and the 1A North Regionals.  She also won the 1A/2A State Meet with a PR of (19:36). 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Monika Kawski (Sr., Horizon Honors)  is following close behind Betoney with wins at the Phoenix Country Day School Invite and the Tempe Prep Invitational;  Kawski also placed 3rd in the Valley Christian Invitational; 2nd in the Fountain Hills Invitational; 2nd in the 1A/2A Metro-West Regionals and  3rd at the 1A/2A State Meet (21:12)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cassie Ronai (Jr., Gilbert Classical Academy) finished 12th at the Gilbert City Championships;  3rd at the 1A/2A Metro West Regionals and 7th at the 1A/2A State Championships (21:35)
