Journal Entry #2 (October 21, 2010)

 Hey milesplit readers,
I can't believe it's already time to write my next journal.  This year has gone by so fast and the season even faster. Can you belive it's only 3 weeks till state. I'm very excited for state to come, it's really going to be great.  On the other hand, it's sad because it's my final year!

Well, October has now begun and I have run 2 races since my last journal. One of which was Queen Creek Twilight race. My team and I were really excited to be racing in the team sweepstakes race that night at 8:45pm. The start was dark and intenese with all those girls charging out in the beginning. The intensity made everything all worthwhile being there that night. I finished 5th right behind Breanna Perrone who had an outstanding race that evening. Both my team and I were hoping for placing better but we got over it, and started getting ready for Doug Conley which was the next weekend.

Doug Conley was one race we were very excited about this season. It's a pretty hilly course for those of you who have never run it or seen it. It's tough, and you have to put it all out and give everything you have to run those hills. I ended up 3rd in that race. It was a decent finish but I was hoping for a better one and closer to Aeo Bristow so that was nice as well. It was even better when I found out that my teammate, Paige Libsack made the top 20 and medaled. I'm always happy to see my team do well and be happy about their finishes. Paige, I'm so happy for you, just keep working hard everyday and you will go far!! My next race will be city and then Mt. Sac in California next weekend.

I have recently gone on two recruiting visits.  The first one was to Oregon State University (OSU), it was nice to get out of the heat and to see a potential school for my future.  It was fun and I really enjoyed it. I also went to Northern Arizona University (NAU),  on my second visit that was great!  Once again, nice weather and such a great group of girls and boys. I was able to see a few people from the team that I raced with when they were in high school, such as Alex Myers ( Sinagua High school) and Tim Freriks (Mingus high school). I got to meet so many great people from each school. My next visit is with the Univeristy Of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) hopefully sometime after state.

One final thing, I hope everyone has a great few more weeks, and run the best they can to have a great ending for the season.   Whether it's your first or last season, I want to end with a Quote that my dad always says, " When your not practicing remember -  someone, somewhere, is and when you meet: he or she will WIN!!!!   GOOD LUCK everyone and I'll be writing again soon.
