Former Xavier Runner Qualifies For Olympic Trials

Former Xavier runner Stephanie Rothstein (pictured left with Jessica Tonn at the 2008 George Young Invitational) qualified for the Olympic Trials in the marathon over the weekend at the Chevron Houston Marathon.  Wanting to run 2:30:00, Rothstein finished 3rd with a personal best time of 2:29:35.

Rothstein graduated from Xavier College Prep in 2002 and ran for Santa Barbara where she became a two time 'All-American' before heading to the Olympic Trials in July of 2008 placing 12th in the 10,000 meter run.

In September of 2008 Rothstein returned home to Xavier to speak at a fund-raising event, sharing her amazing story of her journey from high school running (under Coach Dave Van Sickle) to the Olympic Trails.   Rothstein made a visit to the George Young Cross Country Invitational and passed out awards to all the top runners.
