Cross Country Section Championships

Location:

Hidden Cove Golf Course, 1500 Golf Course Rd, Holbrook AZ

Facilities: There will be porta potties available, but no locker room or showers.

Parking:

Bus parking will be available at the golf course or at the Fuel Express Truck Stop located at 3747 Express Dr. Exit 283 off I-40 (the same exit the golf course is on). If you plan to park at the golf course: buses will need to park on the far east side of the parking lot. If your bus drivers do not want to watch the meet they should park at the truck stop to try to alleviate the congestion at the golf course.

Athletic Trainers: None will be on site, but there will be ambulance crew at the meet.

Time Schedule:

1:00 pm D III Section IV boys

1:30 pm D III Section IV girls

2:00 pm D IV Section III boys

2:30 pm D IV Section III girls

Awards:

Medals will be awarded to the top fourteen (14) in each section. A Team Sectional Champion Plaque will also be awarded.

Awards will be at the #1 tee box (next to the club house) immediately following the last race.

Course:

The course is 3.1 miles on the golf course cart path. Start and finish line will be on grass on the #1 fairway. A copy of the map is attached.

Course walk through: 10:30am-12:45pm on Friday, October 30.

Rules: Rules are those of the current edition of the National Federation Track and Field/ Cross Country Rules and Records, AIA Constitution and Bylaws and these tournament instructions.

Entry Procedure:

Each team must designate no more than seven runners. Entries are to be submitted online at www.athletic.net Entry deadline is Monday, October 24 6:00 pm. Changes to your entries will be allowed at check in.

IF you do NOT have an athletic.net account you need to allow several days for your account to be set.

State Qualification:

The top 50% of teams(5 or more runners) entered on athletic.net before the Oct 24 deadline from each section and any individual in the top twenty five (25)regardless of their teams position will advance to the state meet. If there is an odd number of teams competing, the number of qualifying teams will be rounded up. Thus, 17 scoring teams = 9 qualifiers

Appeals

All appeals must be processed through the Meet Referee. No appeals will be processed on judgment calls made by a meet official. The Meet Referee will be the final authority on rule infractions.
