SCOREING
Although comparing times of athletes who did not race head-to-head is normally anathema to cross country, it may be
necessary during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. Many jurisdictions are considering (as of June 2020) requiring wave
starts for cross country for the fall of 2020 as a way to reduce the risk of virus transmission.
WAVE FORMATrunners start in waves and the scoring computer adjusts the times of each runner to get their wave or
net time by subtracting the offset from the base time. The meet is then traditionally scored using net times
NOTEthe scoreboard will show the runners gun time not net time at first do not panic
The top five runners will score for each team (5 boys and 5 girls) and the next two are pushers after that the
runners will be not part of the scoring
TIMING:
Greg Wayne ~ Event Management, LLC will use a FLASHTIMING 2000 FPS FAT camera and MeetPro
software by directathletics. this will be our primary system. Runners will wear bib numbers with pull-tags
and will tear off the pull-tag and give to the officials in the chute. Our back-up will be a NK2000 memory
stopwatch that can auto-upload the times. Our fail safe will be a Seiko printable stopwatch.
CHIP TIMING
Juwan has an IPICIO timing system that is compatible with Gregs FAT system and MeetPro software. If we
have enough chips, and have all the necessary cables we will beta test the system and use as a back-up
RESULTS
Will be posted by the press box, shown on the LED display, and online at www.milesplit.com
AWARDS
Medals to the top 15 runners. Plaques to the Team Champion & Runner-up boys and girls will be separated.
No awards ceremony. Awards will be distributed with results to coaches or ADs.
