MVHS vs Sabino/Pusch Ridge/Gregory School 2023

Tucson, AZ

Meet Information

Coaches,

We are looking forward to hosting your teams Wednesday, April 5.

  • Automatic Timing: Timing will be done by Coach Kennerly and Joe Hajek.  Therefore, it is critical entries are entered on AZMileSplit by 7:00pm, Tuesday, April 4, 2023.  Email Coach Kennerly r.e.kennerly@maranausd.org  for help or if there are any registration questions.

  •  Results: We will have live results through Athletic.net.  Once we have it set up, we will share the link.  Share the link with your athletes and parents/guardians.  Remind athletes to NOT ask the timing workers for times.  Results can be accessed via the shared link and the final results will be posted both on Athletic.net and AZMileSplit.

  • Although we are not entering athletes via athletic.net, please add the meet to your athletic.net schedule so LiveResults works.

  • Registration: In AZMileSplit enter ALL Field Events and Running Events as Varsity. Running events are seeded based on times.  If a kid does not have a FAT, use the NFHS Conversion to determine their time.

NFHS Conversion:To apply this conversion factor, a hand time is rounded up to the nearest tenth (e.g., 10.83 seconds becomes 10.9 seconds, and 11.77 seconds becomes 11.8 seconds). After the time is rounded up, the conversion factor is added. For NFHS, all races, regardless of length, have a conversion factor of 0.24 of a second added to the rounded hand time.

  • Although we are not entering athletes via athletic.net, please add the meet to your athletic.net schedule so LiveResults works.

  • Entry Deadline: Entries due on AZMileSplit by 7:00pm, Tuesday, April 4

  • Amission Fee: Share with parent/guardians that Mountain View is charging the following admission fee for the meet:

Admission Fee: $5.00 for Adults, $4.00 for students, and kids 5 and under are Free.

  • Team Camps: No team camps are allowed in the infield.  Team camps/canopies can be set up in the west or east bleachers.  If in the east bleachers, they need to be at the very top so no one's view is blocked.

  •  Trainer: A trainer and water for athletes are on site. However, athletes need to bring their own water bottles and tape.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS TO ATHLETES

  • The Finish Line: Remind athletes after they finish a sprint race they need to walk back in their lane to the finish line once all competitors in their race have finished.  This helps the timers ensure results are accurate.  Once the Finish line Official releases them, they need to exit out the north gate, towards the tennis courts, or to the west onto the football field. Make it clear they should NEVER cross the finish line except during their race. Non-competitors crossing the finish line can set the auto capture on the camera which will add time in processing the results of that race.  We tell our athletes to stay clear of the finish line except for when they are racing.

  • Hurdles: Remind athletes to not take hurdles off of stacks to warm up.  Stacked hurdles are set and when athletes take them to warm up it takes us longer to set up for the hurdle races.  We have 20 rocking hurdles on the field that can be used for hurdlers to warm up.  If they dont like rocking hurdles, we encourage them to bring their own hurdles.  Athletes taking hurdles off a stack can be disqualified.
