Cross Country Championships
Friday, October 29, 2010
Location:
Freestone Park. Freestone park is located on Lindsey Road, between Guadalupe and Elliot Road in Gilbert Arizona. Busses are not allowed to park in the first parking lot entrance off of Juniper. (Lindsey Road does NOT intersect with 202 San Tan or the I-60)
From the West: Take I-60 East. Exit Gilbert Road south. Turn East on Guadalupe. Turn South on Lindsey Road. Park entrance is on the left.
From the Tucson: Take I-10 to the 60 (follow above directions)
OR take I-10 to the Loop 202 San Tan Freeway East Bound. Exit North on Gilbert Road. Go 4+ miles north on Gilbert Road to Elliot Road. Turn east on Elliot, Turn North on Lindsey. Park Entrance is on the right.
Time Schedule:
11:00 am Course open for warm up
12:30 pm Division IV Girls
1:05 pm Division IV Boys
1:40 pm Division I Girls
2:15 pm Division IBoys
Awards for the Division Four will begin at 2:00 PM
Awards for the Fiesta Region will begin at 3:15 PM
Medals will be awarded to the top fourteen (14) in each sectional.
Course:
The course will be the old state course with the start and finish in the water retention/soccer field. The length is 5KM and the course is grass, granite and some asphalt and sidewalk. Copy of map is attached.
Section Entry Procedure:
Each team must designate up to seven runners. Entries are to be submitted online at www.athletic.net at the Chandler High School location try http://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Results/Meet.aspx?Meet=40491#13848
Entry deadline is Monday, October 25. Changes to your entries will be allowed at check in. I would recommend that you add this meet to your calendar.
IF you do NOT have an Athletic.net account you need to allow several days for you account to be set.
State Qualification:
Only the top 50% of scoring teams and the individuals in the top twenty (20) will advance to state. Assuming that every team listed finishes, that will be the top eight schools.
State Entries:
All 5A Entries for the State Cross Country Championships are to be made on line at www.athletic.net. Deadline for entries is Monday, November 1, 2010 by 12:00 PM.
