ALBUQUERQUE, NM. -- It's not often you get to team up with your competition. Only three weeks after competing against each other at The AIA State Track & Field Championships, some of the top athletes in Arizona have come together at the Great Southwest Classic at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
The first running event of the Friday session was the 4x100 meter hurdle shuttle relay, which consists of four legs each running a 100 meter hurdle race. Team Arizona consisted of ALA Queen Creek senior Tatum Matheny, Queen Creek juniors Viann Vanderwall and Catherine Littlewood and North Canyon junior Gloriah Hussey.
The group ran 62.13 to place third overall. The time is also No. 9 on the all-time list for the Great Southwest Classic.
