Offseason Video Series: Brennen McHenry

PHOENIX, AZ -- MileSplit Arizona videographer Austin Pestka recently made a trip to Brophy Prep to meet up with senior Brennen McHenry, who is the overall state leader in the high jump and long jump heading into the 2023 season.

While McHenry finished fourth in the high jump at last year's AIA State Track and Field Championships with a mark of 6-4, he continued into the summer, where he found great success in the event. At the USATF Regional Junior Olympic Championships, McHenry leapt 6-10.75 (AZ No. 7 all-time) to finish in second place in the high jump. He followed that up with another second-place finish at the USATF National Junior Olympics Championships.

McHenry is the reigning Division I state champion in the long jump, owning a lifetime best of 23-10.25w (AZ No. 16 all-time).

He committed to the University of Texas in the fall, where McHenry will compete on the track and field team.
