When did you first get involved with track and field?  How long have you been running:

I first got involved in track and field in the seventh grade to get in shape for soccer. Now I’m quitting soccer to keep running, funny how it all turned out.

What are your goals for the upcoming track season?

I would like to place top ten in state in the mile and two mile and qualify in the half mile.

How do you prepare yourself mentally for a race?  Do you have any superstitions?

I just look forward to every race and I know it doesn’t matter how it turns out or what place I get as long as I run a time that I like.

What does your season look like and will you be competing in any out of state track meets during the season or post high school season?

I have about four or five in state races before the region and state races and I won’t be traveling out of state for any races.

What message would you tell younger runners who aspire to be at the top?

I would definitely tell them that hard work pays off. If you start slacking off even on the easy days those are miles you can never make up.

Do you have role models or mentors in track and field?

My coach, Coach Tate, is my mentor, he knows so much about track and I trust his training.

How many events do you compete in and which event is your favorite?

I compete in the 1600, 3200 and 800 and the 1600 is my favorite and it has been sense when I started track.

What are 3 things we don't know about you?

Three things you don’t know about me are that I fractured my ankle the summer of Freshman year, I hate eating fish because it tastes horrible, and it is extremely hard to make me mad.

Quick 6:

Favorite Pre-race Meal?

If my race is in the morning then I like to eat oatmeal for breakfast but if my race is at night I enjoy a couple peanut butter sandwiches on wheat bread.

Favorite TV show or movie?

Big Bang Theory

Favorite Meet?

I like Sun Angle the most because it is cool watching all of the college and post college athletes run

Perfect temperature to compete in?

70 degrees after the sun has gone down with no wind.

Favorite song?

Invincible by Muse

Favorite quote/or saying?

“To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift" - Steve Prefontaine
