Below are the all time best marks in the state of Arizona for high school girls. A special thanks to Coach Jeff Guy (Desert Vista/Ultimate High TC) for contributing and maintaining this list. We certainly hope to see a record or two fall this spring. In fact Coach Guy coaches Vanessa Davis and Nicki Baker in the PV, maybe one of his own pupils will take down a record? If Lauren Ellsworth can recover from her ACL tear she and Dani Jones both have legitimate shots at taking down Lauren's own state record in the 800m. Speaking of vulnerable records, with the 5K record in hand it will be interesting to see if Coach Messer tries her hand in a fast 3200m this spring. It is possible Dani could graduate high school with a clean sweep of the state records. This is an exceptionally rare feat, and if she manages to pull it off it would be monumental. Great runners like Melody Fairchild, Tara Erdmann, Jess Tonn, Sarah Penney and Elise Cranny have not even been able to accomplish this. If done, it truly would be an historic feat. Distance is strong in Arizona, and another record that look especially vulnerable is the womens 4x800m record. Coming off a state championship in cross country if Coach Cline-Mckenzie decided to load her girls up on this relay it is possible Xaviers records could be vulnerable.
