Top Performers Of The Week! Sept. 13

The second week of the 2008 Cross Country Season had some great performances!  We did not get all of the results until late in the week so this weeks top performances are a little late but we did not want to leave it out!

To start off with Sophomore Kylee Kieser (17:49) from Casa Grande and Senior Cody Smith (15:17) from Shadow Mountain had the fastest time of the day at the Chandler Invite.  Both looked very strong at the finish line.

Corey Breinholt (Highland) and Billy Orman (Tuba City) had the race of the week as they battled it out all the way to the finish line in the sophomore race at the Chandler Invite where both finished in 15:45.  Orman edged out Breinholt at the line.

At the Sue Fletcher invitational Sabino runners Steven Gregg (16:05) and Christina Price (17:59.45) take home the gold.  Price won the Varsity race by 19 seconds.

The second best race of the week was between Senior Tim Freriks (15:39.66)  of Mingus and Junior Brian Shrader (15:41.06) of Sinagua at the Ray Wherley Invitational.  Shrader closed a gab between the two runners in the final stretch but Freriks kicked it in at the end to cross the finish line 1.4 seconds ahead of Shrader.  At the same Meet Flagstaff Senior Chloe Philips won her first Invitational of the season in 17:07.40.
