Girls 3200
Maddi Bucci (Desert Vista, Sr.) took control of
the Girls 3200-meter race just before the 2nd half and opened a gap
of about 10 seconds in front of Carlene Hamilton (Skyline) and Olivia Mountain
(Chandler Prep). At the top of the homestretch Bucci's victory seemed secure
until Olivia Mountain unleashed an unseen kick to pass Maddi with only 20
meters to go.
