Turner Washington after setting a lifetime best at Roy P. Drachman Stadium
Over the course of his Senior season, Turner Washington broke the Discus State Record 3 times and while he didn't break the 220' barrier at the State Championships like he wanted, he will without a doubt leave his marks on Arizona soil for years to come.
Yesterday, the Arizona Wildcat signee competed at the Tucson Elite Classic, an all-throws competition held at what will be his home turf as a collegiate athlete, U of A's very own Drachman Stadium. "It means everything to finally hit that quality of a mark; solidifying my name in prep discus throwing history," said Turner.
Indeed, his mark now stands as the #1 throw in the Nation, by a whopping 6 feet and 5 inches and is carved into the record books as US #4 All-Time. "And Yes throwing at Drachman makes me super-exited to be a wildcat." Bear Down, Mr. Washington!
