Estes and Carson Win At 7th Annual Quadathlon

While most athletes are winding down from the 2009 track and field season, a group of throwers headed to Mesa Community College for the 7th Annual Arizona Quadathlon to test their skills in multiple throwing events.

When the results of the four throwing events were added up, Nathan Estes from North High School,  racked up enough points to win the Quad event.  Estes earned  3191 points by winning the shot put (57-7) and the hammer throw (193-9) and by placing 2nd in the discus (180-0) and 3rd in the Javelin (131-9).   Estes is also #1 on the Arizona Leader Board in the shot put and the hammer throw.

Jeremy Tuttle (Buena) took second place overall with 2882 points.  Tuttle won the javelin throw with a throw of 185-05, moving him to the #1 spot in Arizona.  Tuttle also placed 2nd in the shot put (47-10) and the hammer throw (145-0) and 3rd in the discus (160-11).
