From last year's squad, the Scottsdale Prep return Seniors Rachel Moss and Rachael McKeighan, and juniors McKenna Lane and Josephine aka Sophie Hallam. To round out this year's top 7, Seniors Lauren Berry, Allison Vaughn, and Hailey Miller will be looking to close the gap for the Spartans. Two new girls to the team, Arden Delord and Grace Ann are looking to grab a spot away from the returning veterans on the top team as well.
When asked about their respective goals for the season, Head Coach Justin Lane said, "On the girl's side, 'win sectionals!' was a common goal, followed by 'top 5 at state', and 'make new friends'. Several of the girls are aiming to break 20-minutes, either for 5km or 3-miles possibly endangering a few of Scottsdale Prep's records. I think there are some grade level and potentially school records in danger if people can stay healthy and consistent, says Coach Lane.
