The St. Michael's have most of their girls returning from last year's varsity team. At State, Ali Upshaw (Jr.) led the way for an underclassmen Cardinals squad to 3rd place. As a freshman last year, Chiara Holgate (So.) placed 13th at State. This year with Upshaw, they could provide an essential 1-2 punch for the Cardinals, but to place in the top-2 they'll need to strengthen their core freshman, Lynelle Slim, Auri Quintana, Star Anderson, and Ashley Phillips. Coach Bia says that they've been working on running as a pack, but will it be enough to earn them a trophy at Cave Creek?
