Boulder Creek Team Captain, Zach Walling expressed his feelings this week about the team's win.
"After getting my medal for 11th place, I waited for the rest of the guys to recieve theirs. My coach then started on overall team place. 3rd place... Millenium. 2nd place... Sandra Day O'Connor. 1st place.... Boulder Creek. I couldn't believe it! We had barely beaten O'Connor! That was our goal as a team that day. I really felt as if our team met that goal, and it was only halfway through the season! I was so excited! I quickly ran over to get our team together to take the winning team photo. After the photo, I just gazed at our new 1st place plaque EVER at a Cross Country Invitational. It was one of my favorite moments of all time!"
The individual boys winner in the Adobe Invitational was Joshua Espinoza (Deer Valley) who won the race in 16:38.03. Derek Stanek (Horizon) was 7 seconds behind (16:45.61) to take 2nd place.
