Canyon Del Oro senior Ethan Fritzinger in the varsity boys race at the Ojo Rojo Invitational at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler. Fritzinger won the race in a time of 15:15.80, taking over the state lead for the event. In all, seven athletes ran faster than the state-leading time heading into the morning of the race.

While these rankings are generally for 5,000-meters, we also included the 3-mile times as well with it being the weekend of the Woodbridge Classic in southern California. A group of teams packed their bags and went to the Golden State to compete on the one the fastest courses in the nation. Hamilton senior Andrew Gibby finished in first place in the Boys Varsity Blue B race, winning in 14:47.20. But the fastest time of the day from an Arizona athlete was from Mountain Ridge senior Peyton Schneider, who ran 14:45.50 to finish in second the Boys Varsity Blue A race.
