Rachel Johns (Notre Dame, 2013) burst onto the scene last season when she decided to, “give track a try” after soccer. She won the 4A II State Meet with a 12.52 after winning her preliminary heat with a personal best of 12.12.
Promise Amukamara (Apollo, 2011) returns in the sprints. In 2010 she placed second at the 4A I State Meet with a time of 12.27.
Jasmine Todd (Chandler, 2012) ran a personal best last summer at The Great Southwest Classic of 11.64w. She later ran a wind legal 11.99 placing 3rd at Nike Nationals.
Look for all of these ladies to improve this year and watch out for a few new comers. With a least one freshman is coming in running under 12.0 which means this should be an exciting year in the sprints.

Missing from the list is Oshea Hatcher (Chandler, 2011), he ran a 10.88 last year but missed the 2010 football season with a injury. There have also been rumblings that Davonte’ Neal may return to the track this year. If so, we may be in for a few very good races in the boys 100.
