Here are some highlights from the 2012 Arizona Division I boys state cross country championships at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix. Meet was held on Nov. 3. Yuma Cibola's Bernie Montoya won his third straight title. The team champion was Desert Vista. After Montoya, the individual finishers were Ryan Silva of Rincon, Nate Rodriguez of Corona del Sol, Ryan Wesson of Sandra Day O'Connor and Logan Woolf of Highland.

Xavier's Sarah Fakler won the race and the Xavier team won as well. Kristi Rush of Highland was second, Monica Houston of Cibola was third. Juli Mattice from Xavier was fourth, Huston Jones of Mountain View fifth and Dani Jones of Desert Vista was sixth.
