Coaches and Athletic Directors,
It is my pleasure to invite your boys and girls cross country teams to the inaugural Red Mountain King of the Mountain XC Invitational! This unique format shows which school truly has the best overall program. The intent of the meet manager is to bring together the best of the perennial best that Arizona has to offer!
There will be 3 total races: One varsity race for both boys and girls combined, one race for boys and girls non-varsity race combined, and one race for boys and girls frosh combined. Results from each gender are combined to determine the winner of each division.

What: A co-ed Cross Country invitational
Teams: We are limiting the number of teams to 30 boys teams and 30 girls teams, so please contact Coach Selby to confirm your reservation ASAP. For scoring purposes both the boys and girls teams from the same school must participate. For scoring purposes Xavier and Brophy will be scored together.
Divisions: Combined gender Varsity, combined gender Non Varsity, combined gender Freshmen.
Course: The course is 95% grass with small rolling hills and the other 5% of the course is either dirt or concrete. Metal spikes are not allowed on the course, rubber racing flats or trainers only, please. Genders will run together for three massive races!
Time schedule:
5:15am- Course is open for walk-through
6:00am- Coaches meeting
6:30am- Boys and girls Freshman
6:50am- Boys and girls Non-Varsity
7:10am- Boys and girls Varsity
8:00am- Awards
Scoring: The first five runners of each gender and each division will score, for a perfect score of 30. Varsity teams will be comprised of 7 runners of each gender. Non-varsity and Freshmen teams may have an unlimited number of runners. Perfect scores for each gender combined division will be 30, and a perfect overall score will be 90.
Awards: Overall- Two trophies to the top two teams overall. Scores from each gender, and from each level, will be combined to determine the overall winner. A perfect score, for example, will be 90.
Varsity- A trophy will be awarded to the top Varsity placing combined gender team. A plaque will go to the top boys finisher and top girls finisher, dog tag medals to the top 10 for each gender, and ribbons 11-25. A perfect division score will be 30.
Non Varsity- A trophy will be awarded to the top combined boys and girls non-varsity team. Dog Tag medals will go to the top 10 finishers for each gender, and ribbons to 11-40. A perfect division score will be 30.
Frosh- A trophy will be awarded to the top combined boys and girls frosh team. Dog Tag medals will go to the top 10 finishers for each gender, and ribbons to 11-25. A perfect division score will be 30.
Driving directions and parking:
Head east on US 60 and take the Power Road exit. Take Power Road north to Broadway Road and head east on Broadway. The entrance to the golf course is approximately 300 feet East of Power Road, on the South side of Broadway Road.
Busses may drop off students in the golf course parking lot, and then may park at Red Mountain High School located on the corner of Brown and Sun Valley roads (approximately 3 miles north of the golf course).
Team camps: Teams should set up camp on the West side of the 9th fairway, please.
Timing and entries: Timing and entries will be done by Wingfoot Finish. Entries are due by Monday September 15th by 6:00pm. Please complete entries at www.wingfootfinish.com.
Payment: Please make a payments of $125 for each gender ($250 combined) to the Red Mountain Cross Country.
