Entry fee: $200 per team (boys or girls) $350 for both. There is a $50 late fee for any payments made after the meet day. Make checks payable to Salpointe Catholic Track and Field and mail to above address - Attention: Athletic Director.

Participation:
Each team may enter three participants for events except the javelin, where two participants may be entered. Each team may enter one relay team. All entries must be entered online through Mile Split. The site opens on December 13, 2022 and closes on March 29, 2023 at 11:00 pm.
Facility: Teams buses or vans should park on Copper Street in front of the gym and enter campus in the gate just west of the gym. Or enter campus through the Mountain Ave entrance and park buses and vans in the lot immediately to the right when entering. Athletes and coaches will enter the track facility via the gate at the south side of the track and proceed to their camp area.
Team Camps and Warm up area: Because of limited bleacher space, no athletes will be permitted in the bleachers. Team camps are in the outfield of the baseball field north of the track. Pop up tents are permitted but may not be secured by driving spikes into the grass. Do not throw shots, discus, or javelins in the camp area on the baseball field. Please stay off the infield and out of the dugouts. The stadium field is for warm up and cool down only. No food or drink is allowed on the stadium field.
These areas are closed to competitors and spectators:
The baseball infield and dugouts and the softball field.
The track field is only open to coaches.
After completing their event, competitors must exit the track field and track.
No one may use the track field or the track (after the meet begins) to warm up. Competitors will warm up and cool down on the stadium field. No drinks or food are allowed on the stadium field.
Athletes will be disqualified from the meet if they enter these off-limits areas.
Spectators may park in the lot via the Glenn St entrance. Enter the track facility through the northeast gate by the softball field. Bleacher seating is limited but spectators may bring their own lawn chairs to use on the west side of the track.. Spectators may also set up lawn chairs on the east side of the track behind the fence in the roped off area of the parking lot.
Track facility: 9 lane all-weather track. Athletes are to use flats, or spikes. Any violation will result in disqualification from the meet.
Runways and Aprons: All jumping events are on all-weather surfaces. Same spike rules apply.
Shot put and Discus surfaces are concrete. Implement weigh-ins begin at 8:00 am by the track shed at the south end of the track.
Each school must provide their own batons, shots and discs.
Starting blocks will be furnished by Salpointe Catholic.
Timing of all running events will be done electronically. Any malfunction of the electronic system will defer to hand held times, preventing that event from being marked as state qualifying.
Rules and Regulations: 2022-23 State and NFHS track and field rules will be fully enforced. New rules revisions will be followed. No electronic devices of any kind are permitted on the track or the track field.
Awards: Medals will be awarded 1st-4th places. Winners will be announced after each event. Trophies will be awarded to the Team champions and 2nd place.
Scoring: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1
Running Events:
Sprints -
The 100 m and 200 m will have preliminary heats in the morning session. The top 9 from each event will advance to the finals in the afternoon session. The preliminary heats will be seeded randomly.
The 110 and 100 m hurdles heats will be finals and run only in the morning session. The heats will be seeded slowest to fastest.
The 400 m and 300 hurdles heats will be finals and seeded according to entry times with the two fastest heats run in the afternoon session.
Distances-
1600 and 3200 - top 24 compete in one heat in the afternoon session. Runners seeded 25 and up compete in the morning session.
800 - top 24 compete in 2 heats in the afternoon session. Runners seeded 25 and up compete in the morning session
Relays
Enter only one relay team in the 4 x100, 4 x400, 4 x800.
Relays are run as finals and will be seeded according to entry times
Field Events: Because of our limited field space, field events are spread out throughout the day.
High Jump starting heights: Girls 4'0, Boys 5'0
Pole Vault starting heights: Girls 5'6, Boys 8'0
The bar in the high jump will be raised 2" at a time until 6'0" has been reached for the boys and 5'0" for the girls. At that point, it will then be raised 1" at a time.
The bar in the Pole Vault will be raised 6" at a time or as determined by the final competitors.
Shot put, Discus, Javelin, Triple and Long Jump:
Athletes are seeded in flights based off their entry mark. Each athlete will get 4 attempts. No finals.
General Information:
Athletes must report to the bullpen by 2nd call. The bullpen is located just south of the team camp area outside the northwest side of the track. In the bullpen, athletes will receive starting instructions, lane assignment and be checked for proper uniform. They will then be escorted onto the track by the clerk of the course.
There are no locker room facilities available. Restrooms are located near the team camp area and on the south side of the track.
A certified athletic trainer will be on site. Teams should provide their own tape.
Invitational t-shirts will be available
A snack bar selling Gatorade, water, and assorted snacks is located at the southwest corner of the track
Food trucks will be available for breakfast and lunch
All results will be uploaded to Athletic.net and Mile Split at the conclusion of the meet
Coaches Hospitality
Coffee and pastries available at the coaches meeting at 8 am.
