When did you first get involved with track and field?  How long have you been running:

My first year of track was in 7th grade.

 

What is a typical training week like for you?

5 days a week, 2 hours a day.

 

What are your goals for the upcoming track season?

Qualify for state finals and win.
 

How do you prepare yourself mentally for a race?  Do you have any superstitions?

I mentally prepare myself by trying to remain focused on the race.

 

What does your season look like and will you be competing in any out of state track meets during the season or post high school season?

This season I plan on competing in the great Southwest Invitational.
 

What message would you tell younger runners who aspire to be at the top?

Greatness isn’t given, it is taken. You have to earn your way to the top.
 

If you had to attribute your success to one thing, what would it be?

Throughout my high school track career, I have had an abundant amount of motivation. I obtain most of my motivation from my coaches, family and friends.
 

Do you have role models or mentors in track and field?

My role model is the Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones.

 

How many events do you compete in and which event is your favorite?

I’m a heptathlete, and my favorite event is the 300 hurdles.

 

What are 3 things we don't know about you?

  1. I take a sign language class at Marana high school.

 

Best thing your coach ever said to you?

During my freshman year Coach Honea said to me that I inspired him to run. My senior year Coach Dozier said to me that I’m a humble athlete and one of the few people who have worked hard enough to be in the position I’m in.

I prefer track but I do participate in both cross country and track.

The perfect temperature to compete in in 70 degree weather.
