When did you first get involved with track and field?  How long have you been running:

I started track in 6th grade, this will be my 7th year doing track

 

What is a typical training week like for you?

A typical training week for me is throwing 5 days a week a couple of hours each day.  We then lift 3-4 days a week, with cardio after most workouts.

 

What are your goals for the upcoming track season?

My goals for this track season is to throw 45 feet or more in shot , and over 140 feet in discus.

 

How do you prepare yourself mentally for a race?  Do you have any superstitions?

To prepare myself for an event I vision my throws in my head  and the marks I want to hit. I typically play it over and over in my head until my throw is perfect in my head.

 

What does your season look like and will you be competing in any out of state track meets during the season or post high school season?

My season looks decent, there are a couple meets I really have to prepare and focus more for because there will be a lot of good competition.

 

What message would you tell younger runners who aspire to be at the top?

I would tell younger athletes to work hard and not to give up on what they really love.  And in the end all the hard work will pay off. Nothings impossible.

 

If you had to attribute your success to one thing, what would it be?

If i had to attribute my success to one thing it would be my life long support system.

 

Do you have role models or mentors in track and field?

My mentor in track and field would be my coach, Ted Williams.

 

How many events do you compete in and which event is your favorite?

I compete in 2 events shot put and discus, my favorite i would say is discus.

 

What are 3 things we don't know about you?

  1. I'm smart
  2. I  can sprint
  3. And I have a good sense of humor.

 

Best thing your coach ever said to you?

The best thing a coach ever told me was that I am one of the top competitors and athletes come to compete against me.

 

Shout Outs?

I would like to give a shout out to my mom and family for always pushing me to do better, also for supporting me in everything i do. I would also like to give a shout out to my coach for not giving up on me and inspiring me to do whatever it takes to reach my goals, even when I got frustrated and wanted to quit.
