Top US Marks and Meet Records
Dior Hall (Sr., George Washington, CO - photo below in white), turned in the 1st US#1 time of 13.66 in the 100 meter hurdles just a week after winning the 60 meter hurdles at the New Balance Indoor Nationals. Her time also broke the meet record previously set in 2012 by Traci Hicks of Long Beach Poly (13.87). Tiana Bonds (Centennial, NV) came close to going under the meet record with her 2nd place finish of 13.88 US#4.
Adoree Jackson (Sr., Junipero Serra, CA) jumped to a new PR of 25-5.25 in the long jump for a US#1. Jackson broke the meet record of 24-9 previous set in 2008 by Bryce Lamb (Chandler).
Keandre Bates (Sr., El Paso Burges, TX) jumped to a US#1 mark of 49-3.25 in the triple jump. Bates PR is 51-6.
Cereke Geberkidane (Sr., Denver East, photo below) won the Milesplit 1600/Mile with a US#1 time of 4:06.56/4:08.0 and a new meet record. Geberkidane’s winning streak continued as he came back later to break the meet record in the 3200 meter run in 9:02.69 (US#2, running the first mile in 4:41 and the second in 4:21. The 1600/mile record (4:08.82/4:10.37) was previously set by Bernie Montoya (Cibola) in 2012. The 3200 meter run record (9:07.25) was set by Billy Orman (Tuba City) in 2011. Nate Rodriguez (Sr., Corona del Sol finished 2nd in both races with a 4:11.10/4:12.88 (1600/mile) for a US#3 and a 9:14.44 (3200).
Paul Lucas (Jr., Mountain Pointe, photo below) won the 100 dash in a time of 10.52 returning a few hours later to break the meet record in the 200 meter dash with a US#1 20.91. Robert Grant (Sr., Brophy College Prep) was on a record breaking run in the first 100 meters of the 300 meter hurdles when he had a mishap with the 3rd hurdle (and lost) but came back to finish 2nd in the 200 meter dash with a US#7 time of 21.27, also going under the meet record.
Katie Rainsberger (So., Air Academy, Co, photo below) won the Milesplit 1600/Mile in 4:51.20/4:52.83 for a US#3 time and a new meet record. Sarah Gorton (Mt. Pointe) set the 1600 meter record (4:53.01) in 2000 and Julia Foster (Albuq. Academy) set the Mile record (4:56.45) in 2011. Lauren Ellsworth (Jr., Highland) finished 3rd in the Milesplit 1600/Mile by running a US#6 time of 4:53.43.
Sydney Badger (Sr., Centennial, NV - photo below) also went under the meet record in the Milesplit 1600/Mile by finishing 2nd in 4:52.76/4:54.44 for a US#5. Badger later won the 800 meter run in 2:14.61 for a US#12.
Jasmine Stauffacher-Gray (Jr., North Canyon, photo below) ran a blistering 54.69 in the 400 meter dash for a US#4 time and a new meet record (55.76) previously set by Xavier’s Natalie Johnson in 2007.
Tiana Bonds (Sr., Centennial, NV photo below) won the 300 meter hurdles for a US#4 time of 42.04 and a new meet record set in 2012 by Jaide Stepter (Canyon del Oro).
Desert Vista junior Vanessa Davis (photo below) missed hitting her Pr of 12-9 at the New Balance Indoor Nationals the week before but returned to outdoors with a meet record tie of 13-0 in the pole vault. Davis matched the 13-0 jump set in 2010 by Shaylah Simpson (Desert Vista).
Ky Westbrook (Sr., Chandler photo below) ran a US#5 time in the 100 dash in 11.64. She later won the 200 dash in 24.45 and finished 2nd in Shot Put (42-00).
Record Breaking Relays
The Long Beach Poly girls broke the 4x400 meter relay by running a time of 3:50.85. Chandler set the previous record in 2012 with a 3:53.50.
The Junipero Serra boys broke the 4x100 meter relay in 41.64 breaking the meet record set by Desert Vista (41.73) in 2008.

Freshman Alena Ellsworth (Fr., Highland) ran a US#25 400 in 55.96.
Cade Burks (So., Perry - photo below) finished the 800 in 1:54.90 taking the lead in the final 200 for a 3 second PR for a US#12.
Tevin Mayfield (Sr., Corona del Sol - photo below) was edge out in the 110 hurdles by Long Beach Poly's Juan Ward but later came back to win over Ward in the 300 hurdles - 37.90 for a US#9.
Running her 2nd 3200 meter run in high school, freshman Baylee Jones (Desert Vista, photo below) took the lead with 3 laps to go to win the event in 10:55.31.
Long Beach Poly junior Mar'yea Harris (photo below) won the 400 meter dash in 48.39.
Juan Ward (Sr., Long Beach Poly) edged out Corona del Sol's Tevin Mayfield to win the 110 hurldes in 14.22.
Makenzie Holmes-Digiovin (Sr., Desert Vista, ) won the girls discus in 133-05.00 and finished 4th in the shotput (photo below far right).
Bianca Finn (Sr., Chandler, photo below far left) won the shot put with a toss of 43-02.
Jaela Williams (Eleanor Roosevelt) won the long jump in 18-06.50 with teammate Jasmyne Graham taking 2nd in 18-05.50.
Chandler's Tiana Poirier-Shelton (photo below far right) won the triple jump in 36-08.50.
Reno Tuufuli (Liberty, NV) won both the discus (167-04) and shot put (57-02.50).
Tim Duckworth (Arcadia) won both the high jump (6-7) and the pole vault (15-6).
