Brophy College Prep played host to the meet of champions on Wednesday night. The meet provides an opportunity for the top 3 finishers at the state meet in each division to all compete against each other with the next 20 best entries filling out the fields. With many teams coming from all over the state last weekend for the state championships, it's hard for all of them to make it back on a school night. So although it wasn't all the division champions, the fields were still very strong.
On what was a more somber night than usual after the tragedy that hit the Arizona running community yesterday, it was probably a bit of relief and normalcy for these kids to get back out there and do something they're familiar with and have a passion for; getting back on the track and just running.
