Boys Throws: Turner Washington sealed the deal for the throws launching a new Meet and State Record time of 215' 8". For a few seconds spectators could watch each of Turner Washington's throws half-expecting the saucer to fly into space as it soared across the field. Elijah Mason of the Desert Vista Thunder also blew past the meet record throwing 201' 6".
Also worth mentioning is Tyson Jones of Desert Edge High School, who demolished the Meet Record in the Shot Put blasting the cannonball to 66' 8". "I knew the intensity was gonna' be there with Turner Washington and Elijah Mason both throwers who've thrown over 60 feet and so I knew I had to bring my A-game", said Jones. He also said that he now has his sights set on throwing 70 feet and breaking the longest standing Record in Arizona, of 69' 3".
