Ayden Schilb Outkicks Roshan Miranda In Boys Champs

Arizona super-sophomores Ayden Schilb (Cienega) and Roshan Miranda (Rio Rico) broke away from the field halfway through with Roshan Miranda shadowing Schilb stride for stride down to the closing stretch. Schilb outkicked Miranda by just two steps and together they both delivered the first sub-16 performances of the night. "It was great to run the race with Roshan because he helped to push me during that race and without him my time would not have been as good," said Schilb.
The dichotomy between these two competitors made this one of the best matchups of the night. Schilb is a well-seasoned runner with six years of running experience for the Vail Vipers Track Club. On the other hand, Roshan was a trained as soccer player and has only been running for a little over a year since coming out for Rio Rico's cross-country time-trial which he handily dominated. Since August of last year, he's quickly developed into the Red Hawks' top man and is now their first boy under 16-minutes in four years. Over the next two years, we can count on the Schilb and Miranda rivalry to be one of the most exciting in the Arizona.
