Arizona Trio Set For Nike Cross Nationals

Hana Hall -- Flagstaff, AZ

Regional Performance
This was Hana Hall's first encounter with racing at the Grande Sports World complex, but her performance along the pancake-flat golf course was arguably one of the best in the meet. Over the second mile in the Girls Champs race, Hall picked off 18 spots to move into 5th place before finishing second with a PR of 17:14.8 for 5km.
Season Recap
Hall raced against Archer once at the Peaks Invitational but took victories in all but three of her eight races this season. In late September, Hall ran her first sub-18 performance at the Master's College Mustang Challenge and was ranked 5th on the Arizona Girls leaderboard through the latter half of the regular season until the Southwest Regional. She capped off her season with an AIA cross-country State Title in the D2 Girls race.
NXN Outlook
Hall had a fantastic showing at the Southwest Regional and she's not inexperienced to racing in Portland. Two years ago, when she was enrolled at Shasta HS in California, she ran the Nike Portland XC Invite with at Portland Meadows. Hall is the only junior among our three girls and she's got a lot of room to grow over the next year. If she races as tactically as she did at the Southwest Regional, she could surprise a lot of people back home.
