Ella Escobar from North Canyon enters the weekend the favorite in the 400m dash, having run a 55.71 on the year. Escobar will also be competing in the 100m dash at the state championship where she will be seeded at a 12.00, which highlights her closing speed.
Escobar's teammate Riley Patera will be in contention to steal the title from her this weekend, having run a 56.45 and the distinct advantage of knowing how Escobar runs, Patera will be a major threat to Escobar running away with a state title.
Stacey Onyepunuka from Agua Fria, Treasure Rinaldi from North Canyon, and Sabatiney Onyepunuka from Agua Fria are three other names to keep your eye on as well, as they have all gone under 59 seconds this season.
