Boys 300m Hurdles
In perhaps the most difficult event at the high school level, the 300m hurdles is one of the most compelling events taking place at the Division 2 level. Three individuals have set themselves apart from the field over the course of the season, but will unfortunately all compete in three separate heats, which adds an even more intrigue to the event.
Ethan Seppala from Canyon Del Oro will compete in the first heat, having clocked in a 39.95, which is the third fastest time in Division 2. Seppala is no stranger to winning races this year, having won four of his six appearances in the event, and will look to win his first state championship in the event from the first heat.
Joshua Worley from Betty H. Fairfax has clocked the second fastest time in Division 2, having run a 39.72, and won the Phoenix Union Championship earlier this season. Worley will compete in the second heat and look to win a state title in his freshman season.
Javon Burton from Horizon enters the weekend with the fastest time in the event in Division 2, having run a 39.41, and will have the advantage of running in the final heat. Burton will hope to close out his high school career winning his first ever state championship.
