Deer Valley senior Nya Valenzuela in the Division Ii girls race at the 2021 AIA State Cross Country Championships at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix. Valenzuela finished in sixth place at last year's state meet for cross country and put together a track season that included running 2:19.37 for 800m and 10:59.55 for 3200m, both top 25 times in Arizona. She enters the fall as the top returning athlete in the Division II Metro section with her personal best of 18:57.90 for 5,000 meters.
