ALA West Foothills sophomore Kimberly Cerny (fourth), then a freshman with Trivium Preparatory, in the Division IV 1600m final at last year's AIA State Track and Field Championships at Mesa Community College. Cerny ran 2:31.24 in the 800m and 5:37.97 in the 1600m at the Richard Thompson South Mountain Classic to lead all Division IV athletes in each event after the first week of the season.
