In the second edition of Arizona Future Stars, we're taking a look at Seton Catholic sophomore David Williams!
In his first race of the season, Williams came out swinging at the Chandler Invitational. Williams won the sophomore race after crossing the finsish line in 16:11.10. On the same course during the first race last season, Williams ran 19:45.80. Williams' previous PR was the 18:19.50 that he ran at the City of Chandler XC Championships last season.
"My dad helped me a lot," Williams said Saturday. "He was a former coach for (Desert Vista), so he has a lot of tips and he helps me through every step of the way. He's just my guide to winning. My dad gave me a workout plan to do by myself and just helped me through."
You can catch Williams in action tomorrow at the Fountain Hills Invitational at Fountain Hills Park. The first race of the day starts at 7:00 a.m.
