Arizona Future Stars: Meet Tally Call

In the third edition of Arizona Future Stars, we're taking a look at ALA Queen Creek freshman Tally Call!

In her first race of the season, Call came out swinging at the Chandler Invitational at Tumbleweed Park. Call won the freshman race after crossing the finish line in 19:21.90.

"It was pretty good," Call said after Chandler. "My legs started burning (during the) first mile. It was definitely different from junior high but it was overall good. In junior high this course sucked. I hated this course in junior high, but this course wasn't super bad."

Last October on the same course, Call won the 1.5 mile race at the CAA Val Vista Viper Classic (9:41.70).

More notably in junior high, Call came in eighth in the 1500m at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championship with a time of 4:58.20 earlier this summer.

You can catch Call in action again at Tumbleweed Park at the Ojo Rojo Invitational tomorrow. The first race of the day starts at 7:10 a.m.
