Hey Milesplit!

It has been a while since my last blog entry, so just in case you were dying to know, here

's what has been going on in my running life! I took my visit to the University of Arizona over October 9-11, and it was amazing! The team was so accepting and welcoming, and the coaches were awesome. I could really see myself at the UofA since there seemed to be such great unity among everyone. As mentioned before, my friend Katie Penney took her visit with me, and we had a great time getting to know everyone! I was impressed with the student-athlete facilities, as well as the college courses that were offered. Since I do not know what I want to major in yet, I liked how many options there were to choose from. I attended one class (Family Studies) and it was cool to see what the college atmosphere was all about.

The following weekend the Xavier team attended the team sweepstakes at the Mt. SAC course over in California, and that was a complete blast! We drove over in my RV so it was a really fun road trip! When we arrived the weather was beautiful, and perfect for running! The next morning was race day, and our #8-15 competed in the JV championships, and won it as a team. That was very exciting! The rest of us on the team ran the team sweepstakes, and we got 6th overall. Everyone achieved new PR's on the course so that was also a definite plus!

I love the Mt. SAC course because it is simple to break up. The race itself went by pretty fast since the main mission was to get through the first mile, then climb the three mountains, and bring it into the finish. It felt good to know the course so well, and then the post-race celebration is always the best part of racing of course. J I also got to talk to Rex Woodbury over there after his race, so it was great to see some familiar faces! Afterwards we all went out to lunch and then some of us made our trek back to the desert. It was a great trip and everyone on the team did so well!

State is in 2 days now, so the countdown begins! It’s really weird that it’s my last State XC meet! I think everyone on the Xavier team will compete well, so until then we are all just waiting pretty much! Anyway, thanks for reading!
