Southlake's Reed Brown (TX) coasted to a 15:01.80 en route to victory at Foot Locker Nationals in 2016, posting the 36th fastest time run at Balboa Park.

Timpview's Aidan Troutner (UT) ran the 20th all-time fastest boys 5K at the NXN National Championships en route to victory in 2017.

Highland's (AZ) Leo Daschbach recorded the fastest out-of-state boys 3-mile at the Mt. Sac Invitational in 2019, running 14:32.00.

This year’s Foot Locker Nationals will still crown the best cross country runner in the country and continue its rich 30 year tradition on Saturday as two champions will face off in Craig Lutz from Texas and Lukas Verzbicas from Illinois. Lutz is fresh off his win last weekend at Nike Cross Nationals in Oregon, while Verzbicas earlier this fall won the World Dualthon junior title. Along with battling it out with each other for the win, both Lutz and Verzbicas will be racing against history as the South region has not had a Foot Locker champion since 1985 (Lutz), while an underclassmen has never won the boys race at Foot Locker Nationals (Verzbicas).

 Molly Grabill (Rancho Bernardo, CA) and Brian Shrader (Sinagua, AZ) took top honors at the Foot Locker West Regionals today at the Mt. Sac course in Walnut California.
