A typical training week is intense, competitive and full of repetition.

What are your goals for the upcoming track season?

I strive for a perfect upcoming season by training hard and executing everything I’ve learned over my high school career.  I wish to become one of the few top athletes that are pronounced by the Arizona Track and Field State Champions.

How do you prepare yourself mentally for a race?  Do you have any superstitions?

I prepare by getting in my “zone”, visualizing every phase of the jumps and just breathe. I’m superstitious when it comes to what I wear and particularly how I wear it.

What does your season look like and will you be competing in any out of state track meets during the season or post high school season?

This season track schedule gives me opportunities to compete with awesome athletes all over Arizona.  I will not be competing in any out of state track meets during the season.  However; after graduation in May, I will be attending the Military Academy Prep School at West Point in July and competing in track and field.  I will be attending the US Army Military Academy at West Point the next year and competing in track and field.

What message would you tell younger runners who aspire to be at the top?

Everyone falls in love with the idea of being at the top, but first you have to fall in love with how to get there.

If you had to attribute your success to one thing, what would it be?

I could not have been successful without the love and support of my parents, close friends, and the man upstairs.

My coaches are strong mentors and my role models would be anyone that works hard to get where they are today.
